TidyTuesday Week 7/2020: City vs. Resort Hotel

A bit late to the party but here it is: My contibution to week 7 #TidyTuesday. This week’s dataset is about hotel booking demand for two hotels located in Portugal published by Antonio, Almeida and Nunes, 2019. Exploring and predicting cycling rides in Berlin

Introduction In the year 2015 and 2016 the City of Berlin installed counter stations to monitor cycling rides around the city. 26 of these stations record every cyclists who is passing them. On the website of the Transportation Department the data for the past years is published as an Excel file with hourly counts for each station. This data is the basis for my analysis.

Bikepacking Scotland and ggmaps

Last summer my girlfriend and me went to Scotland for a 6-day bikepacking trip along the West Coast. For us it was our first joined bikepacking trip and we therefore decided to go for a mix between camping and staying in pre-booked Bed & Breakfast places. The route planing was done in komoot with inspiration from bikepacking.com. Below you can see a map of our route created with R and the handy ggmaps package:
